Masters Golf Tournament 2010: Tiger Woods Anyone? (My idol, aside from Manny Pacquiao)

The most coveted Green Jacket is once again up for grabs. Golfers shall once again compete in the Masters 2010. The Golf tournament shall happen on April 8, 2010.

This Masters Tournament is especially awaited for since this will be the first swing of Tiger Woods in a 2010 tournament. We all remember that Tiger Woods was involved in a scandal which jeopardized his marriage and his reputation. This scandal involves a number of women who claimed that they had sexual relations with the Golfer (Woods). It escalated even more when Tiger Woods confessed to the accusations which resulted to a number of negative reactions and effects. Also, this prompted Tiger Woods to take a leave from playing Golf for the time being.

The question now is “How will Tiger Woods perform in the Masters Golf Tournament this 2010?” There are a lot of speculations on the matter. Also, a number of golfers have commented with varying views. Some say that the scandal will affect his (Tiger Woods) game in the Masters Tournament, while others say that he (Tiger Woods) is still the man to beat and he shouldn’t be underestimated.

Personally, I think that Tiger Woods will still have a good game in the 2010 Masters Tournament. I agree that Tiger Woods is still the man to beat for the Green Jacket. Also, I think that the fact that there was a scandal won’t matter when he (Tiger Woods) is playing. Tiger Woods plays seriously in every tournament, and the 2010 Masters is no different. When he plays, he’s like in a different plane. As I watch him play, I could see that his game face is on. You could see that his eyes are focused on the trophy and he seldom smiles. And it’s with this concentration that I know that Tiger Woods remains to be the man to beat.

My belief is that he took the time off to patch things up and to clear his mind. Also, I believe that the time spent keeping silent is enough to regain his focus again. Well, we shall see the results of such vacation.

Tiger Woods is still the world number one (1) in the sport of golf. And I think that it will stay that way for a long time.

  3. Do you believe if Tiger wins this weekend all will likely be forgotten? I mean what he does on the course and in his personal life are 2 different issues. We often put these fantastic athletes and celebrities on a pedestal and then when they make a mistake were prepared to crucify them. Bear in mind, they’re human in the end.

I’m not saying that the scandal will be forgotten. I believe that the reason of his absence is to compose himself. Maybe he has prepared himself to focus o the game while being hounded by the criticisms. And yes, I agree that his golf should be separated from his personal life in this case. He is an exceptional player and I am looking at his game during the Masters.

But, I am not discounting the possibility that golf fans would forget about the scandal when faced with his excellent game if he wins. I think that right now, people are just confused as to which they should focus on when speaking of Tiger. If he shows a good game or a great game then people would eventually applaud him for the game, but if he plays bad then people would tend to think of the scandals as affecting his game. As such, great game (or win) = scandal forgotten. But of course, that is just my view.

In fact, I never really gave importance to the scandals. I was just saddened when he took leave. So now, I’m looking forward to his comeback game.

Thanks! I’ll try to visit the site you just gave me. :)

Yup! I watched the game. I must say that Tiger Woods was just amazing. He made 2 eagles and ended with a 68. He’s 2 shots behind Fred Couples, who ended with a 66.

I guess that this would restore the view of the people of Tiger Woods being a great golfer, and do away with what happens in his personal life. I hope he keeps it up!

The English boys need to keep Tiger at Bay and it’s all theirs

  9. oflodor says:

A lot of things can still happen. Tiger’s just 2 shots behind the leader. I think Tiger plays better under pressure. Can’t wait til the next round…

It’s sad that he didn’t win. But a third place finish after a long time of being absent from the Golf Tournament scene isn’t bad either. I believe that he will still dominate the Golf industry.
