Ok, the title gave it away right? Lie to Me is a show revolving around Cal Lightman who is one of the head honchos of the Lightman Group. Cal Lightman, played by Tim Roth in Lie to Me, is a Deception expert. Cal Lightman is some kind of a human lie detector. A walking lie detector if you will.
In Lie To Me, Cal Lightman goes through various cases and solves these cases, or problems, by using his expertise, Lie Detection. Cal Lightman looks at facial expressions, called micro-expressions, and body movements in order to tell if a person is lying. Cal Lightman looks for these Micro-Expressions while asking the right questions. In Lie To Me, CAL LIGHTMAN asks a question, tells if the answer is a lie, asks the next question, looks for signs of deception, and so on and so forth until he arrives at a definite answer need for the current problem that they are to solve.
The Lightman Group is a private entity, sometimes enlisting help from the police, but most of the time the police are the ones coming to Cal Lightman for help in solving these cases.
While watching Lie To Me, I try to analyze the so-called micro-expressions. I’m thinking, if it works in Lie To Me then maybe it could work in real life. Then I could be just like Cal Lightman and do stuff he does in the show Lie To Me.
So, If you’re a fan of problem solving, Sherlock Holmes, with a little House, M.D. attitude, and a little knowledge to come with, then I suggest that you immerse yourself in the world of LIE TO ME. Watch Lie To Me, I assure you that it is a show that’s worthwhile.
As of the date of this post, Lie to Me is at its seventh (7th) Episode in its third (3rd) Season.
